Founded by our group Threelogy, the idea started from our professional background in moving image and spatial design and our passion for visual arts. In December 2014, we successfully organised Open Reel Rooftop Festival, a four day, four theme rooftop film festival event and presented carefully curated international classics, short films, local video art, and independent films from emerging Thai directors to our enthusiastic audience. We soon realised that there are very limited local screening venues for alternative film, in comparison to big budget films. This lead to the development of the Bangkok Screening Room.
